01 · What it does
It tips, and you correct it.
A surfboard moves under you and never settles. A Norst board does the same thing on your floor, in a smaller way, all year round. It does not settle. Standing on it you make small corrections to keep it level, and you keep making them for as long as you are on it. That is the whole mechanism.
Training on a balance board improves balance, and better balance carries into the discipline you ride. Every board is ridden across the disciplines it is made for, by the person who makes them, before it is sold. That is field testing rather than a laboratory, so you will not find a figure on this page.

Hand-made in Colchester from a 12 mm birch-plywood composite with a 3 mm cork top deck. The roller and the ball are 100% cork.

01 Will it help my surfing?
Training on a balance board improves balance, and better balance carries into the discipline you ride. Every board is ridden across the disciplines it is made for, by the person who makes them, before it is sold. That is field testing rather than a controlled trial, so you will not find a figure here. The mechanism is plain enough: the board tips, and you make small corrections to keep it level.
02 Roller or ball?
On a roller the board tips one way, rail to rail. On a ball it tips in any direction at once, which is harder to keep still. Start on the roller. Move to the ball later.
03 Which shape should I pick?
Same deck, 80 by 40 cm on both. Surf is the fish tail. Freestyle is the round tail, even at both ends, so it rides the same way in both directions.
04 Delivery, returns and guarantee?
UK delivery takes 3 to 5 days. Returns within 30 days. Balance boards carry a 1 year guarantee.
